(Tea Party) – I took my children to McDonald’s just the other day, and when I walked in I noticed that everyone working there was of Spanish descent. I walked up to the register, and the woman who took my order could not understand my English. As a side note, I was born in America, and speak perfect English.
I am astonished that in today’s society we as Americans are castigated for not having diverse hiring practices, however foreigners can hire their whole family, friends and anyone else that share their ethnicity without reprimand or penalty.
When I observed the workers, I noticed that only the supervisors spoke English. All the other workers were instructed in Spanish. If I am correct, in order to be an American citizen, you have to take an exam that is in English and be able to speak English.
Employment numbers for American citizens have hovered around seven percent, if you believe the fake numbers that this administration manipulates every week. Think of what will happen if amnesty is passed.
Let me give you an example why amnesty is a bad idea. America used to be the leading country in manufacturing. Eventually the government began increasing taxes and regulations on factories, and unions drove costs up. Companies took their business to China and India because labor was cheap and taxes were low. Factories in America could no longer compete and closed their doors. The American workers found themselves “unemployed and all non-void”
Amnesty will have the same effect on our current workforce. Companies will hire cheap labor and push the American worker onto government assistance. It doesn’t stop there, as those illegals who choose not to work will become a burden on the system.
We see it happening now. If amnesty passes, it will inevitably spiral out of control. Illegals are a drain on our economy. They not only effect our economy for the obvious reasons, but illegals increase the cost of healthcare. Many crimes committed by illegal aliens go unpunished, because they are undocumented and there is no way to bring them to justice. As if that wasn’t enough, the CDC recently reported that measles, chicken pox, tuberculosis and HIV cases are on the rise in the border states, brought over by illegal aliens.
The left would argue that America was built on the backs of immigrants. I agree with that history, but their argument bears no weight in the current debate over amnesty. The word illegal in the label “llegal aliens” implies criminal behavior, and rightly so. They commit social security fraud, identity theft and even perjure themselves on government forms, just to name a few offenses.
Amnesty penalizes Americans because it incentivizes companies to hire illegals over the American workers, thereby increasing taxes, crime rate, and healthcare costs. It also is unfair to law-abiding immigrants who followed the rules, worked hard and studied to take their naturalization test. They took the oath of allegiance and became productive citizens all for naught.
